X-ray sources, photon scattering from electrons, coherency, fluotescence,
absorption, filtration. Emission spectra, principles of x-ray spectroscopy.
Scattering from atoms, dispersion correction and inelastic scattering.
Scattering from clusters of atoms, structure factors. Diffraction from crystals,
kinematic and dynamic theories. Ewald construction, Laue equation and Bragg's law.
Width and intensity of diffraction lines from small crystals. Single crystal methods.
Powder diffactometry. Line-broadening. Structure determination and refinement.
Qualitative and quantitative phase analysis. Texture, thin films and residual stresses.
