Incorporated Courses: chemistry of transition metals 124210
Incorporating Courses: chemistry of the non-metal elements 124707

Main group chemistry, emphasizing differences in structure, stability and
reactivity between compounds involving first-row elements and the others.
Survey of bonding theories required for understanding the phenomena unique to
transition metal complexes. Review of reaction mechanisms specific to transition
metals and of the metals' central role in vital biological processes.
